Question evga gtx 1080 ti black edition always crashing

just upgraded to a evga gtx 1080 ti black edition from a 1080,

problem is it crashes while gamming all the time, i had to unclock it -50 ( using msi ) to stop the crashing

have tried driver uninstaller, tried older drivers

getting pretty much the samr FPS as my old 1080,

the 1080 ti is 2nd hand 15 months old, only used for gaming

specs are
i7 8700k
16gig 3000Mhz
800w be quiet straight power 10 cm
Gigabyte GA-Z370-AORUS ULTRA GAMING ATX LGA1151v2 Motherboard
Thermaltake: Floe Riing -360 RGB TT Premium Edition
In-Win 303 Mid Tower Case - White

What are the temps on it while gaming? I would think your PSU is big enough to power it, are you using 2 different cables from the PSU to power it or a single cable that has an 8 pin and 6 pin on it?

Temp sits around 65 -70 and 2 different cables
