I bought a EVGA GTX 650 ti SSC GPU 1G DDR5 about 3 months ago and the card I had in my PC before was a Nvidia 9800gt (OLD CARD) but ran fine till I had cooling issues that exceeded 200f. So anyways, Ive been using the new card for a while now but ever since I got the card I've been noticing a slight buzzing sound during 3D games like WoW, and Black Ops 2. Each time I hear the buzzing during game play I get stuttering in game for like 10 sec or more, like SERIOUS lag. Then it stops and the game is fine again, but it happens like every 5 min or so especially during black ops 2. I have a Compaq Presario SR5702F Desktop PC with a 480watt PSU, Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 which has been reaching 63c or 65c during playing heavy games like Black Ops 2 or BF3, even WoW!! I seriously doubt its the CPU but I could be wrong. I know I have some high end components for this PC but i've had no serious problems whatsoever with it since the 9800gt video card that was previously installed before getting the gtx 650 ti ssc. I called HP and asked if I was able to upgrade the PSU to a 500watt but he said no , and that 480 is the max I can have in my tower and if i got a 500 watt i would most likely hurt my mobo, I am not even sure there is a 500 watt psu that would fit my mid size ATX tower (picture here) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=3879051&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
So with all that being said, what in the heck do I do? lol The PSU is about 2 years old MAYBE 3, it is a Logisys 480 watt. I completely dusted it out like 3 or 4 days ago and it didn't fix the issue. I've read on here that a 480 watt is good enough to run the gtx 650 ti ssc so why would these stuttering issues be happening every other minute in game? Also I forgot to mention when i got the new card that I had no type of connector that came from the power supply to power up[ the card so I believe it was hooked up to one of the molex cables that was coming from the HD. Any Suggestions would be great, I would hate to get rid of this PC but I am planning on building something new with a full size tower like the thermaltake mk-1 chaser with everything else new but the video card im using now. Here is the PSU I have http://www.amazon.com/Supply-Upgrade-PRESARIO-Desktop-Computer/dp/B007NUOWL8 Anything bigger probably wont fit.
