EVGA GTX 750 Ti; Dell Optiplex 980

I have a Dell Optiplex 980 with an i7 processor currently running radeon hd 4550 graphics cards. I wan to upgrade to a gtx 750 ti but after a lot of headaches I can't get it to work. The card goes right in the fourth slot. Drivers load. No black screen. Just really crappy resolution and device manager says "windows has stopped this device because it is not working properly" or something like that. I have tried upgrading bios. I have tried upgrading the pci slot adapter. All to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Not sure what adapter you are trying to use here. Shouldn't be using anything but the same graphics slot your 4550 was sitting in.

I meant the driver for the pcie slot. I thought it could have been because its an older board and a newer card. But yeah the slot where the other graphics card came out is pretty obvious.

Did you remove the HD drivers before you swapped cards?
