EVGA GTX 760 or Sapphire radeon hd 7950?

Hey guys, i have an Acer Aspire TC 105 EB 11 desktop. My processor is AMD A10 6700. I am currently using the radeon hd 7770 which is not bad. I want to upgrade my GPU.
I came to a final decision whether I should buy the EVGA GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 or the Sapphire radeon hd 7950 3GB GDDR5. Can anyone suggest to me which GPU would be the best for future gaming??????

The performance is pretty even between these two cards. I would take 7950/280 because it comes with 3gb of gddr5 which should should future proof you longer.

If these are the final prices then go with the 7950 as the performance difference isn't that much but if you could get the GTX 760 for cheaper then go with it

760 is slightly slower. It OCs better than the 7950 and takes less power and supports PhysX. The 7950 takes more power, faster at stock clock and will beat the 760 at higher resolutions w/ its higher vram.

I prefer the 760 because I prefer PhysX over a few unnoticable FPS difference

Thanks for the fast replies, but since I have an AMD A10 6700 with 3.7 Ghz, and if I insert any of these GPUs, would I create a bottleneck?
By the way, The EVGA GTX supports directx12, and the hd 7950 doesn't, what's the good thing about having direct x 12?
Also the HD 7950 is 384 bit and the GTX 760 is 236 bit, what would be good about that????

The cards shouldn't bottleneck because thats one of the better performance APU. The difference between 256bit vs 384bit is how much bits of data it transfers at a time. 256bit is fine up to 1080p, resolutions higher then that are were you start needing more.

DX12 is the Microsoft API like Mantle that helps the game run smoother. DX12 is suppose to be able to use as many cores in your system + your GPU to improve gaming performance by evening out the load across the whole system.

yes, but I'm still worried at the fact that the hd 7950 has Directx 11 and the GTX 760 has Directx 12. Would this be a huge impact on next gen games?

It would depend on the game. If the game has support for it then probably because its going to improve performance all around because its supposed to be able to utilize every core possible on the CPU along with the GPU. If your that worried about it just get the 760 it performs great regardless and has the dx12 support.

That detail is fairly irrelevant, as the biggest impact of your ability to play next gen games is your apu processor.


You should not expect the fps you see on most review sites for those specific cards, you will need to see benches with those cards + a 4300 to get a rough estimate of the performance you are going to get.

You should really be looking at a gtx 660 for a proper match for your system.
