I'm building my first rig and (with future proofing as much as I can in mind) I am split between a nice 2gb or a cheaper 4gb I suppose. The core speeds are basically the same however the gtx770 has 400 more cuda cores BUT half the ram.
Games are JUST starting to make use of more than 2gb of vram on ultra (BF4 etc). I want to make sure that with all these new games being developed for consoles(they have 8 cores and 4gb+ vram right?) AND pc, I can run them on ultra without dipping below 60. Although unanswered, this post is a good example of whats going through my mind...

As this is my first gpu purchase im wondering what the differences are, how I'm going to see those differences while gaming, and what is going to become obsolete first, less cores or less vram.
