Today i have run into a very annoying problem with my gtx 780. I rolled back my 780 driver in hopes that the previous driver would work with OBS and the new nvidia codec. After i rolled back it didn't so i decided to just re update to the saying "driver installation has fail driver i previously had (337.50). While trying to install the latest driver a message came uped". I have called EVGA customer support about the issue and did everything they asked me to do. I even tried to do a system restore but that failed also saying it couldn't restore one of the files. I have re seated the card and completely wiped the system of all nvidia drivers with treexy. Neither solutions worked. I have also tried to install the driver through device manager but to no avail as it comes up with the same error. Please help me. Your help will be very appreciated.

Here, do this for us....take a screen shot of the failed installation....event viewer, etc. Like I said earlier, the newer drivers have been giving people loads of problems. Simply perusing the Nvidia forums will show loads of people with driver install failures. When I attempted to update to the newer drivers, they would not go through either. In fact, they completely jacked up my system! All I could get to display was a pretty band of artifacts lol. I had to do a complete reinstallation of Windows to fix the problem. That is why I recommended that earlier driver, because it was one of the last ones to be released that was actually stable for most people.
Have you tried the custom install options and ticked 'clean install'?

I had a similar issue lately after re-installing windows and the nvidia installer just kept failing.

Turned out that 'Device Installation Settings' in windows had been set to not automatically install.

Once I re-enabled that setting the drivers installed without an issue.

Might be worth checking

Right click computer > Properties > Advanced system settings > Hardware > Device Installation settings

Completely remove all traces of Nvidia drivers from your system, then try the driver disk that came with the card. Are you installing drivers direct from Nvidia, or are you installing from your cards manufacturer site?

ty for the suggestion but that didnt work either same error.

I have removed all of the drivers but i didn't get a driver disk since i got it prebuilt. Is there anywhere i can download the disk and install it like that?

GPU manufacturer disks just have the nvidia drivers on them anyway, so no real difference other than which version it was compared to getting it directly from nvidia

Even EVGA's support site just offers the lastest ones

I just deleted all of the files in the temp folder and tried to install again but i keep getting the same error mo matter what i do.
