With my specs, how am I doing in terms of these temperatures?
I am quite worried that it might be too high.

I recently bought this graphics card (actually a replacement because of coil whine). I read somewhere that the fans dont usually start till 60C. But why would I be on 60C on idle?

What is too high?

I still have a little bit of coil whine. Not as bad as the first one I got. If its not bothering me as much anymore, is it normal to have some coil whine?

Thank you. :)

Hi thanks for the QUICK reply. I was reading on some forums that the idle temp should be below 50C, and after seeing mine as 67 avg, i was quite concerned.

I uploaded a video of the coil whine.

Do you happen to know if this is normal? (please skip to 70% end of the video)

Thank you.

I believe your card doesn't run its fans until the temp hits about 64c, so what you're describing is normal, maybe a little high. I'm taking a guess that where you live its pretty much full on hot summer temperatures and that is having an effect.

Coil whine is normal, if undesirable. I haven't listed to the video yet, but I will try later. Coil whine might be an excuse to test out that highly regarded EVGA customer support, if it bothers you that is.

Georgia, correct, currently around 90F weather right now.
However, this is my replacement card from amazon (which i received today). Both the old and new ones still have coil whine.

Now you are saying it is pretty much normal? It has no negative effects on the health of the computer, and temperatures?

Lol, paying for a 360 dollar card, if it had some significant coil whine, would YOU live with it, or would you keep returning it until you finally get the silent one?

So, i got it replaced through amazon. :) the card they gave me is SIGNIFICANTLY better. And i mean, if it would whine, it would match the fan's sound, which isnt distracting me too much. It would only get strong if i play games like nba 2k15 with no v sync (with like 200+ fps) lol. Once i vsync, its fixed.

I could barely hear the whine on Witcher 3 and GTA V now.

Thank you so much :)

yeah those temps may be within range but they should not exist @ idle. While playing BF4 settings ultra I have fans running 100% and have an average temp of 50c. With my computer @ idle just sitting there showing desktop or an open web page - the GPU is so cool that the fan doesn't come on. I think you already solved your problem but don't be afraid to take your heatsink and fan off and REPLACE the thermal compound if you have issues like that again. I had a similar issue with a cpu and the thermal goo was not applied correctly or it was a bad batch. scraped it off, put new stuff on and problem solved.
