EVGA GTX 970 or spend $200-$300 more for EVGA GTX 980?

Im looking to upgrade my Asus GTX 760 which i soon need to retire as its performance it dropping. But know i face the hard choice of buying the gtx 970 right now or wait until most likely the end of the 2015 summer to buy a gtx 980 that might not even be worth the extra cost? I really want to know what i should do? Id also really like to get a custom loop so buying the cheaper card would be nice so i can get a better quality loop.

EVGA GTX 970? or save up for EVGA GTX 980? Really not sure if the $200 higher pricetag is worth it. I am always considering buying a GTX 970 in the future for when it can run games as well.

The GTX970 is much better bang for your buck.

In the end I'm getting the 970. I looked up some benchmarks and pretty much 980 gives you 10FPS more. Granted at higher Resolution like 4k I'm sure the 980 will pull ahead.
