Hello. I'm having an issue with my newly purchased EVGA GTX 970 SSC graphics card. It works wonderfully so far, albeit i've only been testing for about an hour - however, I'm having quite an annoying issue with the HDMI port.

My primary monitor is plugged into the DVI port. When I want to watch tv, or play games from the comfort of my bed, I plug in my tv through the HDMI port. However, when I plug it in I hear the "badonk" noise from my computer, confirming that new hardware has been plugged in, but there is no signal to the tv.

I want to get a signal to both monitors at the same time. My tv is set up at an angle that I can't see from sitting at my desk, so I need my computer monitor to be on as well so I can see what I'm clicking to mirror to the tv.

The only way I've been able to get the hdmi port to work at all, is if I plug HDMI in first, and then plug dvi in after the fact. if I have DVI plugged in first, the hdmi does not send.

I know the hdmi cable and tv both work, as I was using both earlier today with my gtx 760 - and with that card, I was able to plug/unplug the hdmi at will without there being issue, regardless if the DVI was plugged in as well.

As I said, I'm able to get it to "work" but at quite an inconvenience. I want to be able to just plug my tv in when I want to use it and it be readily available, without first unhooking my monitor, hooking the tv up, and then rehooking the monitor again.

To rule out the most common suggestions: My drivers are up to date, I have an adequate power supply to power the card, the hdmi cable works, the tv works, all of the power connectors (8pin/6pin) are inserted, and the card is seated all the way into the PCI-E slot.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
