I been trying to find an answer to this, I'm just missing something I'm sure but hopefully someone can set me straight.

For those of you who have an EVGA Hybrid cooler - How is the pump powered? From what I understand the Fan's cable plugs into the PCB fan controller of the card itself. So I was thinking when I get mine I was going to tuck that cable away and put one of my Noctua NF12's on the RAD and plug the NF12 into the MB to control it. But then I got to thinking how is the pump itself powered?

My only experience is with my H100i which the pump plugs into a SATA connector for power and then the fan's plug into either the Corsair pump or to your MB. But with the EVGA Hybrid cooler I only see the cable that power the Fan, I never see any install videos that plug the pump itself into anything for power?

Ok but the pump that screws onto the video card isn't getting power just because the PCIE Cables are present. The pump still has to plug into something, you see what I'm saying? I mean its not getting powered wirelessly by the power of the video card :)

That's makes total sense and I have no excuse for continuing to miss this :)

Aside from using my own fan and powering it off the mobo, do you think its recommended to power the pump myself as well? If I was to run the pump to the mobo do you know if I would have control over the pump speed or do the existing cables for this card's setup not allow that either way.

I don't think the pumps for the AIO coolers are variable speed so you wouldn't really be able to control it. I assume it is similar to the 295x2 and runs the pump and fan at a constant speed whether it is at idle or full load.

I know by default this is true but I plan on immediately putting one of my Noctua NF12's on the RAD and then to my mobo to control. The pump is a difference story, you need an adapter to plug it into your mobo and from what I've read you can control it then.

Really I'm playing the card lottery here, some people's hybrids have been dead silent, some have a horrible pump buzz. I guess if I get lucky awesome I'll keep it like that. Otherwise I'll wait for the Corsair HG10 and throw a different AIO on there.
