Hello guys!

Is this Hybrid cooler on EVGA gtx 980 ti better than any other aircooling of non-reference gtx 980 ti?(G1 GAMING,STRIX...)
So that means that it offers lower temperature and you can overclock it better than on aircooling cards?

The board is different and has a different bios and has been tested for overclocking. That's the main reason. It will allow for larger voltage and stabler overclocks. It's not that the hybrid couldn't do it, it's a matter of if the board will allow you to. That's why I said, if there was a way to put the aio hybrid unit on a custom pcb with a different bios, it would be much easier I think. You can run higher temps than 75, my reference was set to run at 83 degrees out of the box with no oc and it is acceptable to run that high, I just prefer not too.

I don't know if the hybrid has a dual bios, if it does you could probably flash it with a different bios and not ruin warranty, they allow you to flash if it's dual bios. That...
The hybrid is 50-60 under full load, depending on overclock...the g1 gaming windforce is around 69 under full load. You have more headroom technically to overclock, will just depend on what your card can do. I think the Gigabyte G1 is probably a better binned card as far as overclocking goes, because the Hybrid uses the reference pcb and the G1 is a custom PCB I believe.

But anyways, it will depend on your card because my reference will overclock close to 1500 on turbo but it gets a little hot at that oc so I keep it around 1475. I'm just waiting for the hybrid water unit to come back in stock.

It's a closed loop cooler so you should never have to change it. If you do have to change it, it means theres a problem with the cooler or that the card is very old.

So you have it on 1475 with how many C on load?

72 -74 degrees while gaming but my fan is pretty high, that's why I want the hybrid unit. It's pretty loud. Out of the box with no oc it was quiet but temps were always at 83, which is just a little too high for me.

Do you think that with 980 ti Hybrid you could go to 1600Mhz boost cloock and keep it around 70C?

If you could get your card to overclock that high, you could I would think. Maybe with voltage increases and the hybrid unit attached so the temps are cool when you try, it's possible. I have no increase to voltage now, just the 110% power limiter but that is not voltage increase.

I think the custom pcb would be easier to get it that high but then it will be loud with just fans and I don't know about temps at that level. It's tough to say what to do. Maybe they will come up with a different aio unit that you can install on the custom boards, because those are binned and have been tested for overclock and would most likely overclock to that level easier than a reference pcb.

I don't get it why custom pcb would get it easier that high when hybrid has lower temps :/ i just don't get it ... why is everyone saying that G1 Gigabyte would get better overclock than hybrid one that has lower temps beacuse of what I know lower temps will help you to get better overclock I mean you don't wanna have more than 75C right?
