Today when went to power on PC it did absolutely nothing. Went to microcenter and bought new corsair power supply after reading multiple threads that said the PS is usually first thing to fail and is major suspect when the PC does nothing. Anyway still did nothing with new PS and also tried new cmos battery. Nada, just blue light on mb. Just did what I believe is "breadboxing" where I took out MB and disconnected everything but cpu and PS and still doesnt do a damn thing. Pretty sure its MB at this point....its a evga 132-BL-e758 that had i7-920 in it, just upgraded to power color R9 280 and new 250gig plextor ssd, has 3-1gig memory sticks(ocz gold) I believe running in triple channel.

Now I use this computer for mostly movies, some gaming although I rarely have time and browsing the net as well. Should I just buy a new mb that fits all these components or to complete rebuild? Obviously it fits what I use it for now but would it need an upgrade to play 4k content in the future? Also am I on the edge for PC gaming with that processor? I believe I had it easily overclocked to 3.6g and since upgrading video card had no problem with all games I tried at max settings.

Tired and frustrated after messing with this all day and appreciate all feedback.

I'd suggest honestly to just rebuild it, however test the i7 to make sure it works. Perhaps ask Microcentre if they can test it for you. If it works then build with a new motherboard. If it doesn't then just upgrade to a new system.
