I downloaded and installed the drivers for the motherboard but now I cant get past the Windows XP screen. It goes blank before the login screen. Anyone know what could be wrong?

I just built this PC yesterday and had no problems....

EVGA nForce 780i SLI
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
XFX 8800 GTS 512Mb
2 gigs of ram

Sounds like a similiar problem I was having. It ended up beign a discrepency with the BIOS and the video setting. Make sure it's set to display through 8800.

Also make sure you're using the primary slot on the card.
Also make sure windows is set to also use the 8800 as the display adapter.

these are my nub suggestions. Good luck

After booting in safe mode I can get to the login screen but my mouse and keyboard don't work. Very strange... I can understand the mouse not working but the keyboard?

EDIT: Should I try repairing Windows? Can I do this without losing everything on my HDD?

I am having this exact same problem after upgrading to the 15.23 chipset. It has been a few months since you posted so I am guessing you fixed it. I have been checking the Evga and Nvidia forums but couldn't find the answer.

I also have this exact same issue. I installed a second 8800 512GTS and then tried to upgrade to the 15.23 drivers, when it uninstalled the old drivers and rebooted it will not get to the log in screen. I then try and boot in safe mode and i can get to the log in screen. but the mouse and keyboard dont work. There is power going to both the mouse and keyboard, and the keyboard works in the BIOS just fine. Any help would be greatlly appreciated.

Is there any way that i can restore the old motherboard drivers?

Same problem... No Keyboard or mouse after upgrading MB drivers. Neither USB or PS2 keyboard and/or mouse will work. Anyone with a solution?
