I have an EVGA P55 Le Motherboard and a Gtx 970 Turbo hooked up to it. When I power the system on there's no display and the cpu temp led indicator doesn't light up. I also get this beep that is short and happens about every 5 seconds and doesn't stop until the whole system is powered down. Not sure what to do to fix it and get a display or the bios.

Solution

Even though the Xeon is not officially supported, a BIOS update might be needed for the CPU to work.

If you are positive that the CPU is in working condition I would get a cheap motherboard that supports the Xeon CPU.
Any CPU you get for that motherboard will not match the Xeon performance.

By the way do not spend to much on old components, there are some good options available from both Intel and AMD.

The Evga P55 LE has a debug LED that that shows two-digit codes related to why the system may be failing to boot.
Does it show any codes?
This Debug LED displays current CPU temperatures after the system has fully booted into the Operating System.
The beeps might be related to USB devices connected to the system.
Is that a new build?
Could you post all system components?
