Hey all!

It recently came to my attention that my card is not running at full speed. I only noticed because my performance in games was pretty crap compared to what it used to be, so I started poking around and found a few things, but cannot find a solution at all.

Screenshot of GPU-Z, Afterburner, Task Manager.

Now, if you look closely on GPU-Z, it is saying that the perf cap is because the card is idle. I'm running unigine Heaven Benchmark in the background, and the card is loaded to 100% usage (as seen in task manager). That seems to be a problem. I've tried multiple games, multiple stress tests, and get the same results with everything. Just updated the graphics driver to the newest version. This card has worked fine, boosted fine the entirety I have owned it, up until now.

If anyone has any solutions or help they can throw my way that would be awesome!

Thanks,

Solution
I recommend using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to perform a clean uninstall of the graphics driver. After the process is complete, you can reinstall the latest driver. Hopefully, this will fix the problem.

If your system have a low quality power supply, then I recommend upgrading it. I mention this because power issues have been known to cause this specific problem with the video card.

Thanks for the help, I did a little more hardcore research after trying the DDU, and found a solution. I went into the BIOS, changed pci-e technology from auto to gen 3, and that immediately solved the problem. Beats me as to WHY but it solved my problem, at least temporarily. Thanks for the help!
