Im a bit confused as to how it works. i have a gtx 1080 ftw2 icx card that i paid $599.99 for. i bought it on july 19th, i have 1051 days left on its warranty.... and have 45 days left to purchase an extended warranty..... what card would i be able to step up to? i do not want a blower style card.... also is there a way i could just add another 90 days to whatever days i have left? id like to wait and use the step up program when i got a little bit more money in my pocket. After the 90 days is that it? i cant use the step up program anymore?

Solution
The point of "Step Up" is to help quell buyer's remorse on units when they are superceded by an imminent launch. You can only do it if there's a new unit that is put out within a set time frame from your purchase of the 1080. The idea is it lets you pay the difference in price, and return your old card, which you obviously couldn't do under normal circumstances, so that you don't get screwed by a product launch.

It's not intended for upgrade at your convenience; so no, after whatever the prescribed timeline is, you would not be able to take advantage of the Step up program.
