EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 P2 Power Supply Review

So we are getting GPU's and CPU's which draw almost half the juice then what cpu's/gpu's used to 5 years ago but companies still see the need of pumping PSU's with that much power. I have 970 Tri SLI on Corsair AX1200i and my system hardly ever reaches 50% PSU usage (Visible through corsair link) with i7 4770k OC'ed to 4.4 GHz. I don't see why/how anyone would need that much power on a PC practically.
