[SOLVED] EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G5 vs Seasonic PRIME Ultra 650W

Me and a bunch of friends are building a gaming computer for a friend-in-common, and we're each purchasing a part for him. My contribution will be the power supply. Since several of us are involved, I don't yet know the entire build, but my guess is the following:

Ryzen 7 3700X / 16 GB / RTX 2060 Super /

I don't purchase cheap power supplies and I've always been partial to EVGA and their excellent customer service. However, Seasonic's top end PSU's have an extraordinary reputation and I'm seriously considering buying him one of their units. What's it like to deal with their support and how does it compare to EVGA? I want his PC experience to be as stress-free as possible.

By the way, I am aware that EVGA's G5 line is manufactured by FSP, unlike the Super Flower manufactured G2/P2/T2 lines.

Avoid the G5. The fact its made by FSP wouldn't matter if it was good, but Its just not very good.

Seasonic is one of the best and i have heard of good support. Go for the prime ultra as it is a very good PSU.

Seasonic all the way for me but I don’t see a reason to get anything better than a focus gold.
