Currently deciding which one buy. The supernova is 90 dollars while the corsair psu is 60 right now. I know that the g2 is known to be an extremely good power supply, but is it worth the 30 dollar jump? I put my parts list below to see which one is better for my build.

Ryzen 2700
Zotac 1080 founders
Gskill ripjaws v 2 x 8 gb 3200 mhz
Wd blue m. 2 500gb ssd
Asus rog strix b450-i gaming mobo

Every model is different.

The Evga G2 uses the Leadex Gold platform, it's about the best there is, definitely in the top 5. OEM SuperFlower.

The Evga 600-W 80+ does not use the Leadex Gold platform. Very, very large difference between the 2 units, not only in ability but quality as well. The OEM is HEC/Compucase.

So yes, you might read horror stories, but only about the 500/600 n, B, W, not the G2

The Evga G2 is roughly on-par with a Corsair RMx, a step up from the TXM Gold.

I've been using a G2 550w for @ 6yrs now and it's not given my OC i7 or OC gtx970 even the slightest hiccup. Still runs like new, and it basically runs 24/7

With your pc, you'd be better off with the TXM Gold, 550w would be a bare minimum for a 1080 and Ryzen 2700, especially after OC values. The TXM is decent and pushes 650w, giving you plenty of breathing room.

Yeah I was looking at the 750 watt txm psu and the 650 watt evga g2 psu. Since the sale on the corsair psu ends tonight I'll prob go for that one. Thank you for the help!

Yes, the G2 is one of the best most stable PSU's on the market today.

Defiantly worth the extra money.
