evga supernova g2 850 fan noise high pitched

so when i unboxed the psu i tested it with the 24 pin thing it came with than when i turned eco mode off to see the fan spinning it made a high pitched noise like an old fridge but kinds higher
i can hear it on the other side of my room

is that normal?

no, it is no normal, if is new, i would return it, could be a part inside the unit doing something it shouldn't, not the fan

Are you sure because the airflow is pretty good i Can reel it at the back of the power supply Its just the High pitched noise

i never heard a fan doing that kind of noise, especially a 120mm fan on a psu

i would return it, it shouldn't do any noise similar to what you describe, the idea is silent operation not high pitch noises

I also forgot to say it also kinds sounds like a hard drive but a little louder

RMA simple as that, EVGA have good support and no risk should be taken with a PSU.

i would return the unit if i could, peace of mind on a new pc is something that all of us want, if you find it annoying and a reason to be concerned, you have options, keep it or return it
