Hello guys,

after researching for awhile + am scared when I read people reviews the products....
they were saying this: I read this and got so fcking scared o.o!

  • - The whole uninstalling it and reinstalling a corsair power supply.
    - The whole finding out the dud PSU also blew up your graphics card.
    - The whole purchasing of a new Graphics Card and PSU from Corsair.

NOW what PSU is the safest choice I can get? I don't want my new gtx 1060 to blow up! I don't have that much money to buy another component for 2years! Is the blow up thing even possible?

I really want to buy a new PSU cuz my psu is kind of old and it isn't bronze, not even plus. It was some random things.
I don't wanna go over 100€ // 114$.

I need this for the next 5 years or more + update in 3 years for a new and more powerful/could be sli too.

So can you guys give me some advice? Thanks.

greet

meebunny

Let's check ebay...300$ give or take for a used 1060 6g, if you have something particularly interesting, you might get a little more.
1080s are still in the 550$ and up range, not extactly free, but your 1060 is worth a nice chunk of change right now, something to think about....
And looking at 600W and up Platinum PSUs that are at least tier 2(http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html), I've seen an FSP(semi-modular Platinum rated) 650W for about 100$ US. Keep in mind, if you can wait for a short period of time(month or 2), you might find a better deal. I got my 660W Seasonic for like 80$ US on sale one time.
evga ''supernova'' is quite a bit confusing.

the evga supernova nex ,g1 ,bq suck.
while the evga supernova gs g2 g3 are superior.

evga doesnt make powersupplies, they buy them in and brand them(sticker).

gtx 1060 you say? get a corsair cx550m(not the cx500w or cx 600,corsair plays this game as well)/ seasonic s12ii 520w(anything seasonic makes is good/ xfx ts 550w.

if you have got any questions please ask.

What are you full system spec?

Generally, a quality 450W is more than enough for most users - especially with a 1060.

Not sure what you're quoting with the issues..... I assume it's a junk PSU from Corsair (VS, CS, older CX etc) that caused whoever's issue.

The SeaSonic G550 is one of the best quality/price offerings in most countries

With the CX450M (or 550M) qualiy options too., but don't appear to be well stocked in Europe.

The GS550 SuperNova is one of the best units out there, but pushes near the top of your budget, which isn't really warranted in this case.

I have a pair of EVGA P2 supernovas and a Platinum 660w Seasonic, no issues with any of them, all at least 3yos or more. Thinking of SLI you say? What about overclocking your cpu? If you're thinking of SLI, then you probably need at least 750W. How expensive is your price of electricity per kilowatt? If it's expensive enough, then going from a Gold to a platinum PSU is definitely worth it. I'm looking at the PCPartpicker page for Platinum PSUs. Cheapest one is about 100$ US and the cheapest Seasonic(760W Platinum) is about 118$ US. Let me know what country you're from and I'll do some digging for you.

Te term supr nova is broadly used to cover various modle lines. It's like going to buy spark lugs at th Auto Parts sore and when they guys asks 'what car", the customer answers "Its a blue Chevy". If its a B2, Gg, P2 or any of the new lines, you're fine. CXm is better than a CX and while one can say "Its a good PSU for the money", the emphasis is on the last 3 words. The lowest cost ones you are likely to find are the Seasonic S12 and M12 series.

thank for all the answer my components are:

Ryzen 5 1600 oc to 3.7 (cuz waiting for psu to go 3.9)
GTX 1060 6G
AB350 Gaming 3
2x 250GB SSD 2x 1TB HDD
Kraken x62
+2 Fans front
+1 rear (back)
+1 up

Well yeah I would like to go a powerful single gpu too if it not over prices but yeah for the next 2 years I won't upgrade any components

So I would go for SeaSonic - G 550W 80+ Gold or corsair cx550m. Well I would like to use the cable from cablemod I saw that it support G-Series 550 but don't see the cx550m though....Well is the 550w future proof for the more powerful single card?

if you have a few extra bucks, you could sell that 1060 and upgrade to a 1080.......

well how much should i sell my 1060 6g? and if 1080 which one would be good? but still i dont really want to upgrad cuz volta/vega coming next....i still thinking but first I want to be safe for my psu....cuz this one could blow up anyway soon T_T
