I am updating my with ecga x299 ftw k and deeply thought of using 7900x but settled with 7800x as the 28 pcie Lanes are sufficient for me, my question is it has 2 8 pin cpu connectors and do I have to fill them both in if I need to OC my cpu as these x CPUs seem to draw more power and my evga 850 gold psu has 2 cpu 8 pin to 4 plus 4 pin design and will those be ok or do I need straight 8 to 8 pin cable, 2nd question is there is 6 pin power connector below pcie that is needed if I plan to use sli setup so it provided extra power for gpu and I don't have any 6 pin psu cables but I have 6 pin pcie cable and can I use that to connect to motherboard 6 pin for gpu, thank you for any advise. And can anyone give me a link about the uefi bios settings and how to use it to OC my 7800x as I am not familiar with it and I have searched over the internet but couldn't find any, thank you once again.

There is a description from x299 ftw k manual: "Above the CPU socket, there will be one or two 8-pin power connectors (circled in RED in the pic to the right). This connector is the main power for the CPU and without power from the PSU, the system cannot fully power on and initialize. Depending on your motherboard, you may have one or two of these connectors; at least one must be plugged in".
For the 6 pin connector, there is another description for it: "There is a 6-pin PCI-E connector at the bottom of the motherboard (See page 38 for more specifics to the connector itself, and associated wiring/pinouts). This connector provides dedicated power to the PCI-E x16 slots, augmenting the power provided by the 24-pin and the GPU directly...

what about using both connectors as the x7800 seems to draw around 240 to 250w on full load and what about the connector on the bottom for pcie slots extra power which kind of cable do I need for that.

Pcie connector is a completly different thing. Compare side by side eps cable and pcie connector. If you have only 2x4 eps, then buy another 2x4 eps cables and connect them to your power supply. You suggested that you have 4x4connectors so.

no, I have two 8 to 4+4 eps cables that I can use but my concern was should I plug both as my motherboard has 2 8pin eps connectors or is just one enough to power my cpu as these x series chips tend to draw more power, and I I don't have a 6 pin connector on my psu to power the pcie slots if needed as the board has a connector in case if needed.

This is optional for a single card solution, and is recommended for SLI, CFX, and dual processor video cards."
For OC, I only have the guideline for DARK edition, but I think maybe it is similar to FTW K; so, I think it could help you a little bit...
