Hi!
I've just purchased a new system (yay budget constraints, older tech I know) but it is failing to even get to the BIOS. I get an error code '55' which means memory is not installed, but I've tried old and new DDR3 without any success. I contacted EVGA support about the issue and they want to replace the board -however- the problem lies with the BIOS version from what I can tell > it doesn't support Ivybridge CPU's out of the box. I'm quite annoyed to find this out the hard way, it was advertised as 'supporting LGA1155 CPU'
Is there any way I can update the BIOS so the thing will work with my Ivybridge CPU, like using a USB key or something? I don't know >_<
I'm not confident if I get the board replaced that they'll send me one with an updated BIOS, so I figured I'd ask you guys first for help!
System Setup:
EVGA Intel Z68 SLI (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard
Kingston 240GB HyperX 3K SSD 2.5" SATA-III
Kingston Hyper 2X4GB 2133MHz DDR3 CL11
Intel Core i5 3570 3.40GHz Socket 1155
Zotac GTX 560Ti
Thanks in advance!
