Question Evm and corsair memory combatability

I have a gigabyte h110 ms2 motherboard. Corsair vengeance 8gb ddr4 2400 mhz memory is installed on it. Recently i tried to add evm 2400 mhz 8gb to the next slot and it wont turn on. Please help

What exactly happens? Mixing RAM is not guaranteed to work, only RAM bought in a matched kit is guaranteed to work together.

There is no issue when i install only one memory.

Both memories work on the motherboard when installed one at a time.

But what exactly happens when both are installed and you hit the power button?

Cpu fan spins for some time and and stops and again it continues.

Have you tried 1 stick and moving it between each motherboard slot to test the slots?

Then it is just you are not lucky mixing RAM. RAM is sold in matched kits for a reason.

That’s not guaranteed to work. Even mixing the same make and model bought separately is not guaranteed to work. Only RAM bought as a matched kit is guaranteed to work together. See the odd man out section here https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq...y-ram-and-xmp-profile-configurations.3398926/

Mixing RAM with different specs is like playing lottery, sometimes it works, but most of the times it doesn't.
