Evo 850 500gb m2 can't find in bios nor windows

Good evening all. I'm a bit behind the times here and just built a new rig and it's my first time with a ssd. I have the Samsung evo 850 500gb m2 hard drive. I have tried it in two different slots on my mobo (evga z170 classified k) I have ahci enabled. I can not find the drive in bios, nor can windows 10 find it for install. Am I crazy or is this thing DOA? Thank you for your time and help.

Also, I have the m2 slot enabled in bios.
