I used Samsung migration software to clone my existing raid 0 ssds to the new 850 evo. Everything seemed to work properly but when Windows loads I get a message saying "preparing desktop" then I get a light blue screen. Windows explorer doesn't run. All I have is a light blue screen and it says the version of Windows I have installed is not genuine in the lower right corner. I have to hit ctrl/alt/delete to restart or shutdown. I tried the migration a few more times but got the same results.

Should I just give up on this cloning crap and just do a fresh install? I was trying to avoid it but maybe that is what I should do.

A fresh install is what I always recommend, especially coming from a more complicated setup like RAID0.

Back up all of your important data, then try a fresh install. If it works, something was carrying over from your RAID setup that was causing the blue screen.

If your getting the "The version of Windows I have installed is not genuine in the lower right corner." I believe that would be at least , a large part of the problem. My answer to you would be to get a legitimate copy of windows and see if that cures the problem.

I started a fresh install tonight. I tried everything I could think of. I tried AHCI, RAID, Windows repair, etc and nothing worked. I tried so many things that I actually screwed up my raid 0 array some how! I lost my working boot drives so I had no choice but to do a fresh install on the evo 850. What was strange is I had to disconnect all the ssd and hdd drives in order for Windows to install on the evo 850. I kept getting an error message when I selected the evo 850 in Windows setup. Strange. With all the drives disconnected, besides the evo 850, Windows finally installed. Anyway, it is Installing all the Windows updates now. I was hoping I wouldn't have to reinstall all my games and software but it is what it is.

It's a bummer it had to come to that. That's just the way it goes sometimes. I've lost all data a couple times before, and it was not fun getting it all back.

Glad it's working now, though.

It's my own fault I screwed up the raid 0 array. I kept swapping cables and trying different things and I shouldn't have been doing that with the raid drives connected. I knew better but I figured if I screwed it up I would just do a fresh install. I didn't have anything important on the raid 0 array. Just the OS, games and benchmark programs. No harm done.
