Evo 970 qvl?

Hello, I just recently settle on getting the ASUS ROG Strix X470 itx mobo for my next system and I've been looking to get a Samsung 970 evo because a deal I found. However, only the 960 Evo is in this motherboards QVL list. Normally I'd just go get the 960 because the two are so close but the 970 happens to be $30 cheaper for me.

I guess my main question is do you think it's worth the risk of comparability problems? I'm actually having the same problem with the 850 vs 860 regular SATA SSDs haha. The 850 is listed but not the 860 for some reason.

The 970 and 860 are not listed in the QVL because they were released after that QVL was published.
They'll be fine.
