I know it's already been said before, but it's not just "unfair," it's entirely illegal. At this point I don't really care about his side of the story unless it involves a signed document by Michael Arrington signing over the rights to his involvment in the project.

could it be a huge publicity stunt to draw their tablet into the limelight? Hrrm.. I think so
Where is the cease and desist order and a lien places against Fusion Garage's assets until the courts decided what to do? Nope, instead you get a sympathy blog about an email trying to kick TechCrunch out of the industry. Cry me a river, if this isn't a setup sue them already. This isn't news worthy with or without the scandal.

Yeah, this is just some bad business ethics on Fusion Garage. I hope TechCrunch gets exclusive rights for the CrunchPad and have Fusion Garage pay a huge fine that would ultimately be the end of their business.

It's been what, three days? Not every company is big enough to have a full-time lawyer ready to pour through legal documents and write up a cease-and-desist.

[citation][nom]WheelsOfConfusion[/nom]That dick move killed all my enthusiasm for the product. I'm just not going to give my money to a company like that.[/citation]

then you should not buy Microsoft, Intel or Apple products either.

Well let me finish my statement I guess. Assuming that all the legal hassles are handled and don't kill the product I would like to buy one. It seems like a useful product (especially for my household).

Mike Arrington is known as a whiny little shmoo in the tech world. I have seldom taken him at his word starting more than eighteen months ago for various reasons. I am sure there is a bit more to this than his "greed and jealousy" tripe.
Seems Leo Laporte recently came to much the same conclusion:

Bottome line: I don't trust a THING Mikey says.
He is just a troll.
No more.
No less.

you wouldn't do something like this without the consult of a lawyer and assurance that the techcrunch crew has no chance of winning a lawsuit against them.

+1. If they are willing to screw over a partner, how much more would they care for a petty consumer.
