Hi,
Today I encounter a very peculiar situation. I upgraded my motherboard from a p67 to a z97.
I had 3 ssds in raid 0 (I think its just windows software raid, but its also possible it was hardware raid). I did expect to encounter problem so I backup this raid drive. I replaced the motherboard, and every piece of hardware was recognized except for this ssd raid. I have another stand alone ssd for my windows drive and that one was fine too.
At first only one of the ex-raid drive was recognize in bios and shows up in windows as a blank drive. But after a couple restarts none of them is recognized anymore. I tried switching between ahci, ide, and raid mode, but it didn't help. The really weird thing is that just by plugging in these drives, they heat up really fast (I never seen ssd heat up so much before). As a last resort I swap back to my old motherboard, but the drives are still not recognized in bios.
Have I somehow fried these ssd by swapping motherboard? They are all same model
PNY optima 240 GB.
Any suggestions on how I can salvage the situation?
