There are twenty-three Yozis in Malfeas. Including Gaia and Autochthon,
there are twenty-five Primordials total. Twenty-five is a significant
number in /Exalted/, which leads me to wonder: Whence came the Malfeans?
Were there originally MORE Primordials, and the Malfeans were subtracted
from that number? If so, why not twenty-five? Lots of things in Exalted
comes in fives or twenty-fives, and perhaps a good explanation for that
recurring symmetry would be the presence of twenty-five of the entities
that created Creation.
When a Yozi's Fetich (primary soul) is slain, it causes the Yozi to
change into something new, and generally lesser. My idea: What if the
Malfeans are the shadows of the slain Primordials, the part that REMAINS
the old entity when the living aspect of the Primordial changes to
something else?
Example: The Ebon Dragon is a Yozi, an imprisoned Primordial, and we'll
say that his Fetich, his primary soul, is named Ralph. A bunch of
Exalted do-gooders storm the prison-Hell of the Yozis and poke Ralph
with sharp orichalcum things until he expires. With Ralph the Fetich
dead, the Ebon Dragon weakens and changes: Now he's the Fairly Dark-Hued
Big Snake... but the essence of what was the Ebon Dragon still exists,
and descends howling to the Underworld as a new Malfean.
This would create some interesting dynamics between the Demon Princes
and the Dead Gods, wouldn't it? Especially since some of them are two
aspects of what were once the same thing: One slain but not destroyed,
the other twisted and maddened by pain, hate, and lies.

"I wasn't aware the Tokyo police employed uneducated, paranoid,
delusional foreign delinquents."
"In my case, they made an exception."
