My computer is relitively new i have had it for about 2 years and a bit its using a reused hard drive as a boot drive and my internet browser is there (google chrome) and iv'e been seeing some abnormal hard drive usage with most of the top programs that are maxing out my hard drive are:

System, PID of 4
Chrome, PID of 2004 - 7016

and iv'e been seeing that every thing that's using a lot of hard drive band with is all using Fonts, I do a lot of editing work and i make a lot of intros and i use a lot of fonts and i installed quite a lot of them from 1001 Free Fonts, Font Space etc. and they have been showing up with a lot of hard disk usage with programs like Chrome and System most of the system things only show up with normal things like System 32 but then most of the time its System with PID of 4 with a file path of C:\Windows\Fonts and theres a couple of hundred of these.

Chrome Takes 25 Minutes Minimum to load in a new tab
Playing games is imposible
opening a program takes 1-5 minutes

Can a virus be transmitted via font files?

Welcome to Tom's Hardware, G510Gamer!

I'm truly sorry to hear about the issues with your system. :(
Unfortunately, a lot of things can be causing this, so let's get to the bottom of it.
First, I'd recommend you to run some tests on your HDDs using their manufacturer diagnostics tools. I saw from the DXDiag that one of them is a WD Green drive, so here's a link to our DLG tool: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=ykRGj5
Make sure you run the quick and the extended test to see what's the health and SMART status of the drive.

I'd also suggest you to run the malware/virus check again and maybe even turn off the antivirus software.

If you suspect a software for the lags, I recommend opening Task Manager > Select Processes tab...

If you suspect a software for the lags, I recommend opening Task Manager > Select Processes tab > Select the CPU column and see how the service runs when the system is lagging.

Keep me posted with the results of these couple of troubleshooting steps. Hope I helped! :)

New Development, Restarting the PC does help with the usage for a small amount of time, boot times are 10-25 minutes, any game with high or low system impact completely disables chrome steam and other programs, I have defragmented the hard drive improves hard drive usage by lowering the amount to 25% from 100%. doing the diagnostic tool now, when the system lags it often warrents a restart its that bad

Wow, G510Gamer! It seems like this is causing you quite the annoyance and headaches! :(
Did you get the chance to complete the HDD diagnostics? What are the results?
If you couldn't do it due to the constant lagging, I'd suggest you to unplug the HDD and test it on another computer either by plugging it internally or using a SATA-to-USB cable (a dock station is also an option).

It would also help to see what the virus scans are saying. I'd also recommend attempting this with a different anti-virus software, just in case. I'd even give a cleaning tool a try to clear the registry, temporary, junk files, etc. and optimize your system a bit.

As a last resort, you might want to simply perform a clean install of Windows, see if that will improve things. However, make sure you back up your data beforehand.

Keep me updated!

The diagnostics said that all drives are in good health, all virus scans are coming up with nothing even with extended scanning

What cleaning tool would you recomend for this type of issue?

The hard drive usage has gone down to regular levels (0 - 6%) but when i launch a fullscreen application the hard drive usage goes to 100% again for the entirety of gametime and 10 minutes after. maybe this virus is hiding its self but when it cant be detected it fires up again?

i'll try to get a screenshot of the high hard drive usage with the file path

Hi again, G510Gamer!

Unfortunately, I'm unable to open the Dropbox screenshots. Can you post them as pictures in the thread or use imgur?
I'd suggest you to test your GPU, here's a thread that might give you some guidelines: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2189736/test-graphic-card-working-fine.html
My guess is the graphics card is the source of the issue, but I can't be certain.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi again, G510Gamer!

Honestly, I don't see anything unusual about the HDD in the screenshot you provided.
If you have any doubts about it, I'd suggest you to test the drive using the DLG tool I provided you with in my first post.

What about the GPU? Did you have the chance to test already?

yes i did get a chance to test the GPU, Furmark showed that its normal in performance but the fans keep reving up and reving down and when it did that the temp went down dramaticly (10 degrees minimum). UNIEngine Heaven Bentchmark i get 64 FPS regularly but when i bump up the tessalation it goes to 3 - 5 FPS (nothing surprising there) the tep was always at 61 - 62 degrees centigrade GPU Z showed nothing that i didnt already know

The problem has gotten better to the point that its almost not a issue sometimes when i close a game the hard drive usage goes to 100% but that goes away after 2 - 5 minutes. and there where 2 pictures contained in that link look at the top of the picture there should be a button to make it show the other one

Oh, I see now. Sorry I kind of missed the second screenshot.
The fonts are a bit concerning, indeed! And I thought I had way too much Adobe fonts... but there you are! :D
I believe you need to disable the font caching in the apps and troubleshoot the issue. I'd even reinstall all of them. Check this Adobe KB guide: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop-cs5.html
Make sure you back them up, though I'm not sure if that will help. The last resort would be a System Restore or at least a clean install of the fonts and the Adobe Suite.
What did the SMART results of the HDD testing show? Did you come across anything unusual?

sorry for the late responce, and no nothing seemed unusual in the SMART testing i can give you the log file that it produced for you to look at it and hope fully see something that i didn't. and how do you disable font caching and i delete my system restores after 3 months of it being there and i installed the fonts at least 4 months ago so the system restore is pretty much useless at this point.

and i know now its not a virus because every day i have my avast malware bytes and AVG run a scan and they picked up only PUP's and i got rid of them

It's okay, G510Gamer! :)
However, I don't think you need two anti-virus software apps though, this can also contribute to the unresponsiveness and excessive system usage.
I believe I would consider performing a fresh install of the operating system. If I were you, I'd just back up all the fonts, files and data and re-install Windows together with the Adobe CC apps and fonts.
Doing this will most probably fix the issue and determine that we are, indeed, dealing with a software problem here.
I'm not sure you will be up for it, but it might be the last resort. :(
