Excessive usage of 8GB RAM?

My computer came with 8GB RAM but all processes seem to take up a big percentage of my memory according to task manager. Google Chrome with an average usage of 400MB appear to take up around 60% of memory. It's been like this ever since I got the computer. Nothing has changed. I'm not sure if this is normal but when I look at the usage it seems like a big deal and if so, what can I do about it?

Processor: Intel i3-7100 CPU @ 3.90GHz 3.91 GHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 960 4GB
System: 64-bit

Google Chrome is know to be memory hungry. I would advise you have nothing running(in terms of apps) and see what your ram usage is when idling, just after system boot up. That find will help us identify if you have a memory leak issue, assuming you're on Windows 10 and not Windows 8.

Solved. The manufacturer website had provided an urgent patch update called "Reduce Memory Usage for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Legion Y520T-25IKL".
