i want better performance on my old laptop so i wanted an egpu but those are expensive so i saw a video of a guy hooking a graphics card into this dock and then the card works as a graphics card. i wanted to ask that if these things are legit. i posted this egpu thing here cuz i didnt kow where to post it to. Even if possible, adding an eGPU to that won't do any good.

10 year old platform that was slow when it was new.

That IS an "eGPU".
External GPU.

You still have the GPU, the dock, the power supply.
The ONLY difference is that it is running through the ExpressCard slot instead of the M.2 WiFi port.

Just as expensive, cumbersome. Less performance than with a modern laptop.
And your CPU is still the limiting factor.
