Expanded Desktop

I have a ton of gadgets, is there a way to make 2 desktops, one for my apps and one for gadgets, right now I am using multiple user accounts and it is a bit awkward

You could create a folder for them, giving you quick access without filling the desktop.
The only thing I can find on creating multiple desktops is at: http://blogs.msdn.com/abhinaba/archive/2006/07/05/656197.aspx
however it's only for XP/2000, try Google and see if you can get lucky.
