I was planning on getting a new wireless card - http://bit.ly/1Som2c5 and wasnt sure if my slim micro atx case would fit the card (Aerocool QS-102) if the brackets would fit?

If the card would fit in properly as in the brackets? know that my mobo has a pci x1 slot free and that the card is compatible etc. just wondering if the size of the card bracket is universal or if i need a bigger case.

I don't see anywhere in the description for this NIC that it is a low profile design. If your slim case requires a low profile NIC this card may not fit.

a lot of cards ship with them so you can swap if needed but cant see anything that says that card comes with a low profile bracket

I have checked my case and it is definitely low profile so i will also look about the card, if so could you recommend a wireless card that is low profile, no more than £40 and low profile that would be great

This is a newer version that comes with a low profile bracket if you need it. I'm not sure the price on your side of the pond.

Ok so thanks to all you who have helped me I have figured out that the card does come with a low profile card included which is good, (used ctrl + f) also is this card suitable for gaming - csgo etc as i was constantly lagging out with a usb network adapter which was constantly turning of to save power, yes I have disabled the option in device manager I just needed something like this as it is very low profile.

any reason it has to be a pci-e card?

personally i prefer usb wireless adapters as pci-e cards the signal can get blocked by the case

usb can be moved around to get the best signal possible

and usb doesnt matter if you have a low profile bracket case or not

The card is sadly not in stock so hopefully will be in soon so probably get that, thanks for the advice.

also with usb cards you should go to control panel/power options and make sure the usb settings in your power plan are at max

For best performance it would be better to have a direct connection via cable and avoid wireless. If your in a RAID using a wireless NIC or wireless keyboard and mice bad things tend to happen; I'm speaking from past experiences, lol.

Gigabyte sells one with that comes with a magnetic external antennae. Works quite well. Only one I see in the UK also has bluetooth for some reason...I can't see anything that mentions a low-profile bracket though.

Just an example, you can probably track down a low-profile model with an external antenna to avoid the case blocking the signal.
