I have an Arris 6 tuner dvr with an eSata port that's used to connect a portable expansion hdd . I have a 2T Seagate w/ a usb 3 port that came with a usb 3 to usb 2 cable . The dvr does not have any working usb2 ports so in order to connect the sshd I purchased a usb2 to eSata converter & a usb2 coupler. When I connect it all together & plug it in the sshd is not seen bythe dvr.The sshd does work & so does the eSata port on the dvr. If anyone has a solution or experience with anything similar I'd appreciate any help.

Solution
It probably has to do with the USB3-USB2-eSATA adapter chain. You would be better off buying a eSATA enclosure and put a drive in it.
