Expansions slots touching motherboard edge

Hi there. Is it normal for motherboards to touch PCI e cover slots?

I'm hearing noises coming from my cpu and although I don't think it's related I do want to rule everything out.

Not always but not unusual at all. CPU ? has no moving parts.
