Experience Score, so how fast is my processor?

Hello, i just bought windows 7 installed everything and the first windows experience score was a joke, my processor (e8400@ stock speed) had a level of 3.9. The same processor was 5.8 on vista?

I don't overclock, but i decided to see what would happen to the scores if i used easytunes to over clock my cpu. Set to 3.8Ghz i got 6.9 for the cpu score then 7.1 for memory 7.5 for graphics and 5.9 for the HDD. at this time i decided to use intel processor identification utility to make sure how fast the processor was actually running and it was at 3.8Ghz so that matched up ok. i did the same but at 3.6Ghz and the scores were slightly lower and Intel untility said the CPU was running at 3.6Ghz. So i figured when i reset the CPU back to stock speeds i would get slightly lower scores and Intel Utility would say 3.00Ghz....

Well, i actually got some respectable scores from WEI but... the Intel processor identification utility said that both cores were running at 1.03Ghz and that the FSB was 462Mhz.

That would explain the low scores the first time, but now i have better scores and he intel utility is saying 1.03Ghz, so what is going on? I started up CoD W@W and it was just lagging so badly, and windows 7 doesn't feel as fast as i expected it too...

Anyway thanks for reading and any help would be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't worry about the WEI score, as it does not effect how your computer performs using the OS. Using various benchmark suites like SANDRA, Futuremark, etc... will give you a much better representation of how your computer performs.
