Having some issues finding some consistent info online from present/past employees of Micro Center. I'm thinking about dusting off my resume and throwing them an application to either work as a techie or build your own PC associate.

My questions are

1.) Does anyone know if it's a fair company to work for in terms of overall atmosphere? Or are we talking walmart level management style?

2.) Is there an employee discount of some sort? Even if it's 5-10% that negates tax and more or less makes my next build a lot easier to consolidate part purchases.

3.) Anything else I might want to know before tangling myself with this company?

I worked for them from 1994-1996 - and had a very good experience there. They value their employees and want them to grow within the organization. I don't remember the exact employee discount - but I believe it was 10% for computer stuff. They are a great place to start, and also a great place to advance. I started as a technician, moved to lead technician, and was interviewing for service department management when I found another job in computer networking (this is what I really wanted to do).
