Right, so, first this isn't a bit. I know some one still using xp. I've told them for years that's not good but they still do.I helped them get their crt monitor in a better viewing position.
Then they told me someone got into their e mail. Then they said experion ? (credit tracking company?)) told them their social security number is on the dark web. So do these companies have false positives like virus trackers? I've tried and warned them many times to update but all I get is vague answers and dismissal.
Any input is welcome.

Given that the person is still using Win XP, it is not unlikely that their SSAN is exposed on the "dark web".

But also, the depth and breadth of SSANs that have been exposed in the last few years is the majority of adults in the US.
No matter what PC OS you use.
