expertise badges next to my forum name?

when will expertise badges show next to my forum name?

They show up after you have answered so many questions in a specific area. I think the only show up next to your name when you answer a question in that area. ie if you have the CPU badge it will only show when you post an answer in a CPU related question. (I may be wrong)

Go into your profile and select one to display next to your name. I have a few myself but haven't bothered.
