Hi guys, I've been dealing with an issue that seems to be quite prevalent with users but none of the solutions have worked for me and I'm at a loss as to what's causing it. I'm using Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit laptop and have been experiencing an explorer.exe error every time I try to reboot or shut down. The message reads:

The instruction at 0x69045b20 referenced memory at 0x69045b20. The memory could not be written. Click on OK to terminate the program.

If I click OK the laptop will continue rebooting or shutting down and the problem will go away for the next 5 shut downs/reboots on average. I have over a hundred system restore images and a plethora of software installed. Any idea how I may find out what's causing the issue?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Solution
Create yourself a http://www.memtest.org/ disk and boot with it to test your ram. Let it run several hours/overnight or until failures/errors appear.
If you get errors, shutdown and remove all power and then remove all but 1 stick of ram. And now retest each stick of ram individually. Not all the ram usually fails at once so hopefully you will find a good stick that will allow you to use the pc until you can replace them (replace in pairs usually)
