I just installed a fresh copy of Windows 11, but I'm getting a memory error sporadically when I shutdown.

A box pops up during my shutdown screen, saying:

explorer.exe - Application Error - The instruction at XXXXXX referenced memory at XXXXXX. The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate the program.

There seems to be no pattern to when it's generated. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. They all seem to generate the same "at" location number code and end in "3FAA"

And again, this started VERY soon after my initial install, so wasn't anything I did or changed (best I can tell). Pics attached I snapped with my cell phone:

Following up here...

Since I posted this, I did a full upgrade of all my RAM sticks (which worked smoothly) and made sure my page file is still set to system managed. So that's about all the memory work I know I can do on my end to try and eliminate this issue on my own.

What could still be causing this? The problem has not gone away, and seems like a weird thing to be happening on a fresh install of Windows 11. Need further guidance...thanks!

What worked for me...

For anyone having this error, I tracked it down to disabling the GameInputService in Windows Services settings. Stopped the process, disabled it and it stopped the error permanently. Been several days now, no error anymore.
