I guess I will have to mark a bunch of runes once I figure out where are
good locations. Assuming we can mark runes there.

Every monster seems to carry immense gold. Kill a bird, get 1000gp. 8)

I am just collecting weapons and armor. I can't tell them apart. I need
to get a bunch and then strip naked to see where each new piece of armor
goes.

Right now I decided to wander the three islands and get a feel for them as
a ghost chicken.

I did not have much time last night, but I went to the new area for a quick
look around. Some giant chicken looking thing attacked me, then it turned
into a human form and started tossing lighting bolts. Not knowing its
stats, and not having time to take care of the problems of being rezed if
needed, I just ran off.

Does anyone have a web page for stats on the new monsters? I do so hate
to get killed, have my bug killed, etc, when I really only have time to play
for 30 min. Just no fun. I have not even had time to read up on all the
new stuff for weeks. I have been getting most of my news here. This is
the only thing I have had the time to read.

I am starting to feel lost in a new game that I have played for 7 years.
The really bad part is, I don't think I like this new game.
Could be that I have been playing for 7 years and just tired of it.
Could be that I just do not have time to stay on top of the changes.
Could be that they have changed it until its not the game I enjoyed
for the last 7 years. Who knows.........

Yeah, I didn't see any wandering healers so I hope some of those little
shrine places can do rezzing. I kept getting attacked but nothing hurt my
guy too much.

I just read about them at the Stratics Hunter's Guide. The only really
worrisome ones looked like the Yamadon (sp? The horned fat ophidian) and
the adult Hiryu. I think the rest are solo-able with a GM fighter type
char. I didn't much pay attention to barding or magery vulnerabilities
though.

Well, you don't have to go to the islands. Even though it feels like
there is some deadline to learn the new stuff you can just take your time.
I like having someplace new to explore since my current char is nearly
finished being developed.

Shouldn't you be out blackening my name on other newsgroups? Or are
you being Bob Perez these days?

Just to warn you ahead of time, Samurai platemail has two different pairs of
pants.
One is a full length piece with shin guards, the other is a skirting that goes
nicely with thigh boots.(suneate & haidate, respectively)

A tad confusing when you go to craft, really...oh, and no gloves for the
samurai armor, while ninja leather gear got a set of big giant mittens that
make your hands look swollen.(literally called ninja mitts...you can't make
something that dumb up) They don't look quite as bad with a pair of the Tekagi
claws, though...but they're still silly and oversized...

~Cyrus~

*Oh, and all the new samurai helms are FUGLY...i'm glad they didn't just reuse
the Ancient Samurai Helm's graphic, keeping it unique, but they could've at
least used it as a reference...and i'm disappointed in the look of the metal
samurai gear, though the leather versions are very, very nicely detailed...just
gotta get my hands on a barbed kit...and a Legendary tailor...hehe*
