Exporting All-in-Focus JPGs from a Lytro Camera

The Lytro camera is unique in that it allows users to capture more data than a traditional camera. What this does is allow for the refocusing of images after they are captured. After you have taken JPGs from a Lytro camera, you will want to export them in order to make changes or share them. Here is how you can do that:

Step 1: Connect your Lytro camera to your desktop or laptop computer.

Step 2: Open the Lytro Desktop program on your computer.

Step 3: Select the pictures that you want to export.

Step 4: To export an All-in-Focus JPG image, set the aperture to f/16. This is done by using the virtual aperture control.

Step 5: Go to the File menu and select Export.

Step 6: Name your file and make sure the export option is set to .jpg.

Step 7: Click Export and you are finished.

The Lytro line of cameras has been around for almost three years, beginning with the small, pocket-sized models that entered the market late in 2011. The Lytro technology allows for the refocusing of images after the picture is taken. Because a user can focus the lens after the picture is taken, there is no need to focus before.
