EXPOSED! Crashman makes a mistake!!!

asus blows...they tried to save 2.50 per board and remove a mosfet i mean thas pretty low...crash you should buy a 3rd mosfet for your mobo. Also what caps did they swap? What was the rating on the original caps and what did they plop in?

Original caps are unbranded, I only find "KZE" and the values stamped on them. The ones in the tricked out board were Sanyo and another brand. Also, a whole lot of resistors were present on the tricked out board that are missing on the production board, adding a MOSFET does nothing if it's not connected to anything.

2.50? I heard that mosfet can cause up to 5.00 per piece.

You see, 2 mosfets, that's 10.00 per mobo, can you imagine how much they save per month or year. But then, it doesn't matter how much they can save, I don't really care, the real problem is---THEY ARE CHEATING US!

Just forget about Asus, buy Abit mobo, look at <A HREF="http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=SG-72&fMTYPE=Socket 478" target="_new"> this </A>, Abit's cheapo Sis chipset based microATX board has a better VRM then Asus's top mobo.

Not only cheating, but on their top board! I mean, $180 is a lot for a board, I'm sure people wouldn't notice much price difference if it cost, say, $185. You pay for the top end, you expect top quality!

Yes, too bad I made a mistake! On closer inspection of my own board I found 3 sets of power regulators for the VRM. Each has a pair of MOSFETs and a third part missing. The third part would be needed to increase output (up to 50%) over THG's quoted 90A peak.

Don't think the great Crashman made a mistake , it's just like i did , you believed the reviews . I don't think the reviews where bad it's that the boards where supplied by the companys involved . The best would be to go out and buy them from a parts place but that would be very expensive soooooo we got what we got . That would apply to CPUs and everything .

The man of steel said that

But that's only if one buy's Asus........

To be precise.
Just a bad habit I have, using my education.

Cool, sounded cool. I thought maybe I would want to get some and impress my friends. What does it look like, perhaps I already do have a few?

Well, they are tiny little devices you might mistake for a resistor, if they appear as they did years ago. Probably don't have one onhand, they are kinda special application.
;^(

Good Luck,
