I have had a pair of Razer USB essential headphones for a while and i have noticed a massive bit of exposed wire. It looks like this:
bQsdd
Would there be any way to fix this or cover it u from being damaged further?

It probably will, but it is a lot less durable, and electrical tape is made for things such as that. Shrink wrap is also really cheap, can probably get enough for less than 1$/£1, and you could probably melt it...
You could get some electrical tape and just cover it with enough layers to cover it all and keep it secure, but it may need replacing every so often due to it losing its stickiness.

You could also get some shrink wrap, and if you ahve something that outputs around 80c heat constantly then you can cut the shrink wrap into 1 long piece instead of a cable-like figure, and wrap it around, and melt/shrink it over the exposed cable. This is probably the best option for long-term durability.

Would normal tape work fine?

It probably will, but it is a lot less durable, and electrical tape is made for things such as that. Shrink wrap is also really cheap, can probably get enough for less than 1$/£1, and you could probably melt it heating up something metal over a flame and just wiping the metal object on top of it. Would recommend using something with a plastic handle or something similar, maybe a specific pin or something.

But electrical tape would work better than regular tape, but it will still work.
