Hey guys, I've been having this issue for quite a while now, and up until this point, assumed certain instances of it was PC performance related. When playing just about any FP game, turning feels really choppy, or "shaky", even when strafing and walking forward or backward are silky smooth. This is a mouse problem. I'm using an MX518 optical gaming mouse(USB). I know it is a mouse problem, because when I plug in my 360 controller, 99% of the time, it eliminates this issue. The game now turns just as smooth as the walking and strafing. I don't know if this is a driver issue, or a hardware issue with the mouse itself, but I do know it's annoying as !@#$. I've tried shutting off any point precision and related settings in windows, to no avail. I removed my logitech drivers and installed windows default mouse drivers. Any game that has a mouse smoothing setting, I have tried to disable or turn down the setting, also to no avail. If anyone knows what is causing this, I would be forever grateful to you, if you could shed some light on this. I know I can just use the controller, but I prefer mouse control if it is possible to get it turning smoothly. Thanks in advance.

optical mice are very finikey about what surface there used on. try a different 1.
if that doesn't work then make sure you turn acceleration off, enhanced mouse precision and stuff like that...
the mx518 isnt exactly a high end mouse but it should be better than what you describe...
dont forget to clean out the lens hole and rub a Q-tip over the lens to get any dirt.

http://www.ngohq.com/news/15043-how-to-increase-usb-sample-rate-in-windows-vista-7-a.html#post73228 then go here and try this... it works for low end mice like yours and can reduce things like prediction(looks like your problem) to levels that are way less intrusive.
