So right I am living on the same floor as my Wi-Fi router and modem and run an ethernet cable to a splitter in my room. Well here is the problem... I am planning on moving upstairs for more space as I add things to my setup. The Wi-Fi is pretty decent at my house but of course I love wired. I was wondering if buying an extender would benefit anything. I would have the extender at the bottom of my stairs then run an ethernet up the stairs to my splitter and be back were I started. Would this actually benefit me because that would be awesome so I could finally move upstairs. Thanks and sorry for the long post just wanna make sure all questions are answered. This is what I was looking at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O4VADT4/ref=gl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2TWKOT6KSZLGZ&coliid=I2VW8N7F4CA8F6&th=1

Get a range extender for the downstairs from the same manufacturer and chipset of your router, you'll get best performance and less chance of issues.

You will experience a slight lower performance form the extender, so don't use for latency sensitive connections aka gaming.

But if I only drop a little performance my internet is still pretty decent so I should be ok. I really in need online for random stuff because I play a lot of games in story mode or by myself
