Windows 10 version 1903 (OS build 18362.778)
I recently discovered a load of old Blu-Ray disks I'd forgotten about from my previous computer and dug out the external Blu-Ray player to copy all the info to my hard drives. The Blu-Ray won't show up un my PC either in My Computer, or in the device manager but is popping up on BIOS. It works fine on my work laptop (same windows version), but that laptop is in work and would require a lot of trips to transfer back and fourth by USB.
I've tried:
Reinstalling drivers (my internal DVD shows up fine and that is what I have been reinstalling on device manager)
regedit
I learned that apparently Daemon tools can cause problems, so uninstalled followed by drivers and regedit again.
Heard that reinstalling ATAPI drivers might help, did that too.
Finally I realised that maybe the front USB ports may not be supplying enough power and switched it to the back (drivers and regedit again)
Obviously, I have contacted the manufacturers (ASUS) to see if they supply a specific driver that may help me... the response was not good customer service. I also contacted Microsoft and got told to do all the things I'd already tried.
